Barcelona Museum of Contemporary Art (MACBA)

Located in Raval neighbourhood, the Barcelona Museum of Contemporary Art (MACBA) gives space to different artistic movements that emerged in the second half of the twentieth century. In 1953, the writer and art critic-Pellicer Cirici devised a space of its kind in this city, but it was not until the mid nineties when the museum opened thanks to the joint collaboration of the City of Barcelona and the Generalitat de Catalunya. MACBA funds are comprised of more than 5,000 pieces made between the fifties and now by the most prestigious artists in the world.
